Are You Color Blind? - Test Yourself Online

There are three types of color receptors in our eyes, red, green and blue. We also have black and white receptors. They are more sensitive than the color receptors, that is why we have poor color perception in the dark.

Color blindness comes as a result of a lack of one or more of the types of color receptors. Most color perception defects are for red or green or both. About 10% of males have a color perception defect, but this is rare in females. Red-green color blindness is a result of a lack of red receptors.

Another form of color blindness -- yellow-blue is the second most common form, but it's extremely rare. It is also possible to have the color receptors missing entirely, which would result in black and white vision.

Check for yourself and your children for color perception defects here. What numbers do you see ? If any.

You Can Edit Google Search Results

There are many topics which are hard to find on internet, only because such topics are not so popular or widely used by general public round the world. And so there are quite a few websites on those topics. If you are searching on Google on some topics which come in this category and you get useless search results, you can edit/delete them and they won't appear ever again.

Google Inc has developed a new system to give its search engine a more personal touch. Google lets users edit results so that, the websites they wanted to appear on search results get a top position, and the ones they disliked get discarded the next time they enter the same request.

The reason behind this new system is, Google simply wants to make specific sets of results for each individual. So, users will have to have a personal login to take advantage of the editing feature. It's important to note that, it's first time in the history that, Google the most widely used search engine has given access to users to edit search results.

This new system has been given a name "SearchWiKi". Here's how this new system works. If you're logged into Google when doing a search, you'll get results with a series of buttons below the links. Clicking on arrow pointing upward moves a result higher on the results page. That link will come back in that new spot the next time you search on the same term. Clicking on an "X" will delete the link so it doesn't appear the next time you make the same search.

Next Terror eMail Could Come from IIM-A

IIM-A and many alike institutes are operating Wi-Fi network on campus. Crime branch officials from Ahemdabad have found as many as five unsecured Internet connections in Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad (IIM-A) and two in Gujarat University. It's been noted that, many other institutes in the city have unsecured wireless internet services which can be easily used by the terrorists or anyone else for sending threatening emails.

Wireless internet connections named Linksys, Devdhar, Pronet, AK Jain, Gandhi have been found at IIM-A, and the main intranet used in the campus named WLAN unsecured. Unsecured here means where no strict firewalls are defined and where one can hack into the system with a software available on internet. It's dangerous as in such institutions, it becomes difficult to check every connection.

Similarly, Gujarat University also has such unsecured connections. There was a connection titled WA00131 that had more than two nodes available for use. The connection is used by faculty members and in residential campus.

Terror organisations know well that educational institutes are biggest user groups for internet connection. There are many WiFi campuses in Gujarat alone. However, terrorists now identified as Peerbhoy and Shaikh cleverly used Khalsa College connection in Mumbai. They also took care of deleting history from administrator log, making it difficult for cyber officials to get digital footprints. It can happen in Ahmedabad too.

City crime branch has urged citizens to secure their wireless connections with advanced software and firewalls. "Most routers have security features but by default they are not activated," said cyber crime experts.

Sex Lives Having a Bad Time As SENSEX Fluctuates

Financial crisis is now showing it's effect into bedroom. Many psychologists are of the opinion that sex lives of Indian people are severely affected with fluctuations in stock market index, especially Sensex. People don't find time to have sex during bull-run, while they lack mood for the same during recession, implies a new study that is underway, reported The Economic Times.

It's been undertaken to study the impact of the financial crisis in sex lives of the people across India, U.S. and Europe, supported by the World Association of Sexologists (WAS).

Dr. Paras Shah, based in Ahmedabad will be conducting Indian part of the research. The U.S. will be covered by Judy Kuriansky, based in New York. They will then tie up with sexologists in Europe and will present the complete senario at WAS conference in Sweden in 2009.

Dr. Shah has given a title to his study - 'Teji ma time nathi, mandi ma mood nathi' (No time for sex during a bull run, no mood for it during a crash).

"This study is important as sex is a relationship binder and many couples are on the edge of separation due to pressures of losing money and intimacy." Says Dr. Shah, adding, "When the sensex had touched the 21,000-mark, I got women patients complaining that their husbands had no time for sex. Now that it has crashed, men are turning up by the dozens, saying they don't feel like having sex."

Here is a scientific fact: The financial crisis is lowering testosterone levels in men, causing erectile dysfunction. By Dr. Shah's records till now on the study - The average finding is that testosterone has dropped to 250 ng/dl (nanogrammes per decilitre) as against the normal 300-1200 ng/dl. The levels of hormone should be above 400, for good Sex.

Make Google Search from Anywhere by Sending SMS

This is a great news for those who don't have web/wap enabled mobile handsets. You can now simply make a Google Search by sending an SMS with normal SMS charge your cell phone opertaor has. You can use Google SMS Search service for getting train schedules, finding near by restaurant, movie and event's places & timings, weather forcasts and lot more.

Google is very profound in search and providing services. e.g. I could SMS "Pubs Mumbai Suburbs" to 97733 00000 and it sends back the list of popular pubs around Mumbai Suburbs. But that's not it, it also sets my default location automatically to Mumbai. I don't need to provide my location each time. We can anytime change the location and set it another though.

For more details, here's a Google Mobile Website. The number you will require to send SMS to is - 97733 00000.

No need to spend lot of money for premium services like Cricket Scores, Astrology, News, Find Places etc. provided by Indiatimes and Rediff. Just pay a standard SMS Charge and send it to Google Search. There’s no fee for the incoming messages too. The service is available for all popular cellular networks including Airtel, BSNL, Idea, Reliance, Spice, Tata Indicom and Vodafone.

This service is available only in India.
